Acne can be a persistent and frustrating skin condition, affecting people of all ages and skin types. Finding the right combination of treatments can be crucial in managing and reducing acne symptoms effectively.
In this article, we'll explore the benefits of our three superficial peels: Mask Peel, Milk Peel, and Crystal Peel, and provide expert advice on maximizing their effectiveness.
Understanding Peels and Their Benefits
Superficial peels are designed to exfoliate the outermost layer of the skin, providing various benefits depending on the specific peel used and the individual's skin type and condition.
Mask peel: ideal for mild acne and oily skin
The Mask Peel is a very superficial peel, perfect for those with mild acne, acne-prone skin, dilated pores, and excess sebum. Key benefits include:
- Purification of the epidermis: helps in cleansing the skin surface.
- Brightening of dull complexion: enhances skin radiance.
- Sebum regulation: decreases oil production and tightens pores.
- Tightening pores: helps in refining the skin texture.
Milk peel: effective for mild to moderate acne
Milk Peel is a superficial peel intended for mild acne, keratosis pilaris and superficial pigmented lesions.
Its benefits include:
- Reduction of acne lesions: minimizes the appearance of acne spots.
- Elimination of superficial pigmented lesions: fades pigmentation marks.
- Improvement of keratosis pilaris: exfoliates to smoothen skin affected by keratosis pilaris.
- Collagen production boost: enhances skin firmness and reduces fine lines.
Crystal peel: Intended for the treatment of melasma, solar & senile lentigines, post-inflammatory pigmentation, mild acne and hyperkeratosis.
Crystal Peel is a superficial peel intended for the treatment of melasma, solar & senile lentigines, post-inflammatory pigmentation, mild acne and hyperkeratosis.
Its benefits include:
- Fading post-acne pigmentation: reduces red marks left after acne heals.
- Improving acne symptoms: helps with comedones, papules, and pustules.
- Pore size reduction: decreases sebum production and tightens pores.
Choosing the right peel for your skin type
While all three peels are superficial and can be applied to all phototypes, the specific choice depends on the type and severity of acne, as well as the skin's needs and, above all, the doctor's diagnosis.
Mask peel: best for mild acne and oily skin, helping in purifying and brightening the skin.
Milk peel: suitable for moderate acne with additional benefits of addressing pigmented lesions and boosting collagen.
Crystal peel: ideal for moderate acne and post-acne pigmentation, focusing on reducing red marks and refining pores.
Expert tips for maximizing peel effectiveness
Preparing your skin before a peel is essential for a safe and effective treatment. The pre-treatment routine also enables the detection of any allergies in advance.
Here's a routine to ensure the best outcomes:
Pre-treatment guidelines (start 15 days before peeling)
Mask peel and Milk peel: use Oxybiome, Foamer 15, Activabiome, and Hyal ceutic. Stop using Foamer 15 and Activabiome 3 days before the peel.
Crystal peel: follow the same routine but replace Activabiome with Dual+. Stop using Foamer 15 and Dual+ 3 days before the peel.
Post-treatment guidelines (resume routine immediately after treatment)
Mask peel and Milk peel: resume Oxybiome and Hyal ceutic immediately after the peel. Continue the full routine approximately 1 week later.
Crystal peel: same as above but include Dual+ in the routine. Continue the full routine approximately 1 week later.
