What are its origins?
Zinc PCA is the zinc salt of L-Pyrrolidone Carboxylic Acid (L-PCA). L-PCA is obtained by the cyclization of L-glutamic acid, an amino acid of plant origin, specifically in our case from beetroot. Pyrrolidone Carboxylic Acid is a natural compound found in the epidermis that is part of the Natural Moisturizing Factor (NMF).
